Amongst the machines on the Marden Edwards stand at this year’s Total will be two individual pack overwrappers, including the new Evo-Fold low cost overwrapper and a high speed W200s, plus a B125LH8 collating overwrapper.

The Evo-Fold, which is being exhibited for the first time, is the latest development from Marden Edwards.
It has been designed specifically to appeal to customers who are new to overwrapping and are looking to improve the presentation of their products.

Marden Edwards has recently supplied one of its B100LH8 collating and overwrapping machines to a multi media supply company in California, USA. The application involved the collating and over wrapping of two plastic, DVD style, clamshell cases which contain digital media devices.

Marden Edwards’ usual method of product stacking on the B100LH8 is to lift the pack up to sit on sprung fingers. This system is tried and tested and suits a wide variety of packs and collation configurations. However, the pneumatic system used on the B series range is limited to 60 rows per minute. Because the product inside the carton is chocolate, overwrapping is favoured to shrink wrapping not only for the quality of the appearance but also the reduced level of heat transfer. The LX150FF is able to fully overwrap the carton and seal the ends with the normal diamond end fold pattern or to simply wrap a tight sleeve around the pack. Read the rest of this entry »
